Brain Health

A healthy brain is one that is adequately nourished from the inside and is in perfect working order. It has the ability to allow you to focus and control your thoughts, help you recall information easily and is a constant source of creative and practical solutions for you.

Brain health relies heavily on two things. Firstly, it relies on correct nutrition. Your brain function is heavily influenced by your diet. Eating the correct foods will ensure that your brain has all the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants it needs to work at its best.

Swapping your usual cup of tea or coffee for green tea for example, has the benefit of upping the level of antioxidants in your body. Antioxidants help to fight and repair cell damage in your body caused by free radicals. Free radicals are a by-product of certain metabolic processes within the body and are worsened by eating a high fat and high sugar diet.

Secondly, healthy brain function is also based on ‘using your grey matter’ or using your brain to its fullest potential by challenging it on a daily basis. This is highly significant in delaying age related memory problems such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.

It is extremely important that you start to look after your brain health in the same way you would look after your body. Treat it well and train it to be the best and it will serve you well into your old age
